Privacy policy

This page explains what data we collect, what we do with it, who it is shared with, and how to request its deletion. The site is operated by Phidea — contact details at the bottom.

What we collect

phidea.eu is primarily a public reference site. We collect minimal data on visitors:

  • Page analytics via PostHog. Anonymous events including page URL, timestamp, browser, device type, referrer, and country. We do not collect or store names, email addresses, or other directly-identifying personal information through pageview tracking.
  • Newsletter subscriptions via Resend. If you subscribe to our weekly newsletter, we store your email address and subscription date. Used only to send the newsletter you requested. You can unsubscribe via the one-click link in any email.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard request logs (IP address, user-agent, path, timestamp) for a limited period for operational and security purposes.
  • LLM-bot crawl events. When automated agents (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Googlebot, etc.) crawl the site, we log the user-agent and path. This is bot traffic only — no personal user data is associated with it.

What we do not collect

  • We do not run advertising trackers, retargeting pixels, or third-party marketing scripts.
  • We do not sell or rent personal data to third parties.
  • We do not use cookies for advertising. PostHog uses a session identifier in local storage for de-duplication of visits; you can clear it at any time via your browser settings.

Who we share data with

We do not share data with any other third parties. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale.

Third-party data we collect

For internal SEO research and editorial decision-making, we query third-party APIs (Google Search Console, Google Ads API / Keyword Planner, Bing Webmaster Tools API) about phidea.eu’s own performance. This data is about our own site’s performance in their indexes — it does not contain user-level personal data and is used only internally to inform what content we publish.

Legal basis (GDPR / EU users)

  • Page analytics: legitimate interest (operating a functional public site).
  • Newsletter subscription: your explicit consent given when you submit the subscription form.
  • Server logs: legitimate interest (security and operational continuity).

Your rights

If you’re an EU/UK resident under GDPR, or a California resident under CCPA, you have the right to: (1) request a copy of any personal data we hold about you, (2) request its correction or deletion, (3) withdraw consent for marketing. To exercise any of these, email benoit@phidea.fr. We respond within 30 days.

Data retention

  • PostHog analytics events: retained per PostHog’s default retention policy.
  • Newsletter subscriber records: retained until you unsubscribe, then deleted within 30 days.
  • Server logs: retained per Vercel’s standard policy (typically days to weeks).

Children

phidea.eu is a B2B research site for insurance industry professionals. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change this policy, we will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting newsletter subscribers will also be communicated via email.
