What it does
Five Sigma is an AI-native claims management platform founded 2017, serving P&C insurers, MGAs, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers. $46M raised cumulatively. The product ships in two layers: Clive™, an AI claims adjuster that augments whichever claims-admin system the customer runs; and Five Sigma's own cloud CMS for customers who want the whole rails.
Public deployments. Fast Cover (Australian travel insurer) deployed the AI-native claims platform and Clive in 2024; L+M Development Partners selected Five Sigma for self-insured claims management. The vendor cites "leading insurance carriers, insurtechs, TPAs, and self-insured companies" in aggregate.
Where it sits in old → new → AI. The legacy claims workflow is a combination of carrier call centre, in-house BPO, and paper file. The modern rung is Guidewire ClaimCenter or Duck Creek Claims. Five Sigma is AI-native and positions Clive as a layer above either — the AI adjuster works on top of existing modern stacks, which lowers the switching cost for carriers who do not want to rip-and-replace.
