What it does
Zelros is an AI-native platform for insurance distribution and point-of-sale product recommendation. Founded 2016 in Paris by Christophe Bourguignat, Fabien Vauchelles, and Damien Philippon. The product sits on the agent's desktop or inside a bancassurance teller's system, matching customer profile to the right policy option and guiding the quote-and-bind conversation.
Named customer base. Seven named European carriers and bancassurance partners in production: AXA, BPCE, Crédit Agricole, MAIF, La Banque Postale, AssurOne, +Simple. Zelros reports 15 leading European providers in total. The US footprint is newer — the 2021 Series A was specifically framed as a vehicle to bring the platform to North America.
Funding. $16.5M total: seed + $11M Series A led by Silicon Valley-based BGV in February 2021, with ISAI, Plug and Play, HI INOV, 42CAP, and astorya.vc participating.
Where it sits in old → new → AI. The legacy rung is an agent's memory of the tariff binder. The modern rung is notable by its absence — carriers tended to buy distribution functionality as a feature inside the agent portal or the bancassurance core, and no dominant pure-SaaS modern vendor consolidated the category. Zelros is the AI-native entrant in a layer where the transition from legacy to AI-native was mostly direct.
